Book Week Bonanza...

Last week we celebrated book week and our love of books by dressing up as book characters. We also had a real life author, Elaine Forrestal, visit us. We have been reading some of her stories over the last few weeks during library time. Some of the titles we have read include Miss Llewellyn Jones and Miss Llewellyn Jones Goes to Town. 

 Elaine spoke to us about what it was like to be an author and write stories and she assisted us in acting out some of her stories. The Kindy children also brought their favourite story to school and got to share it with the class. To finish off a fantastic week, a librarian came to visit and delivered us better beginnings book bags to take home. Happy reading!

This Term our Talk 4 Writing text is We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen.

To begin our learning journey we had a teddy bears' picnic. The children brought their teddies to school and we played games with them including teddy races, duck, duck, bear and teddy bear parachute rides. We also made some teddy toast, it was delicious.

Disco Fever!

The Kindy and Pre-Primary students (and teachers!) loved showing off their groovy moves at the recent school disco! They also played some games including musical bobs and limbo. 

Thanks to the P & C for organising such a great event. 

Arrgh, It's Pirate Day

On June 10th all students at Yanchep Beach were invited to come to school dressed as pirates. It was to raise money and awareness for Children's Cancer. We had a marrrrvelous day!

The Farm Comes to Kindy!

We were lucky enough to have a visit from Old MacDonald Farms this week. The Kindy children loved getting to feed, groom and pet the farm animals. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to see the farm animals that we have been learning about. We even met the three little pigs!

Ladies Afternoon Tea

A big thank you to all of the Mums and Nanas who attended our Ladies' Afternoon. The Kindergarten children loved pampering their Mums by painting their nails, creating jewellery for them, painting their portrait and cooking together. We hope that all Mums had a wonderful weekend feeling extra loved and super spoilt! 

Easter Fun...

The Kindergarten children were excited to show their unique Easter bonnets to their family and friends at our Easter Bonnet Parade last week. 

They also loved showing their singing and dancing skills, and reciting the story of Rosie's Walk. This was followed by a surprise Easter egg hunt that the Easter Bunny left for the Kindy children in the nature play. 

I think it is safe to say the Bonnet Parade went off a success and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it!
